VERTIGO AND KLASSZIK PRESENT: CALEMA
True cultural bridges between peoples united by the Portuguese language, the Calema duo formed by brothers António and Fradique Mendes Ferreira, brilliantly embodies the soul and richness of the Lusophone. Native to São Tomé and Príncipe, raised between the traditions of Portuguese-speaking Africa and the contemporary influences of Portugal and France.
Their name, Calema, refers to the powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean, symbolizing movement, mixing and travel. Through their music, a clever mix of afrobeat, pop and traditional sounds, they tell universal stories in Portuguese, touching the hearts of millions of fans on all continents.
Today, they are the most popular Portuguese-speaking artists in Portugal, cumulating the best sales and filling the country’s largest venues. Their clip “Te Amo” has over 82 million views on YouTube. A success that demonstrates their ability to federate, move and carry the colors of contemporary Portuguese-speaking culture.
In 2024, the band celebrated its 15-year career with the release of their latest album ” Voyage “, a mix of pop, afro and latino sounds, which was accompanied by a European tour of the Zéniths 2025 and their first sold-out Accor Arena. The group will be back in France in 2026 at the Zéniths of Clermont-Ferrand, Marseille and Lille as well as a new concert event at the Accor Arena in Paris on February 21st.
