After a triumph at the Théâtre du Châtelet, the all-time best-selling musical returns in spring 2026 for an exceptional tour of France. Named at the Molières in the category “musical spectacle”, the adaptation of the work of Victor Hugo which has conquered more than 130 million spectators around the world will be presented in a new masterful staging, signed Ladislas Chollat.
46 years after its first stage adaptation in 1980, this new production in French – whose libretto was reworked by Alain Boublil for the occasion – allows you to rediscover many songs that have become timeless: I had dreamed, To the will of the people, My story, The Great Day…
At the service of the text, the staging by Ladislas Chollat captures all the complexity of the characters through their symbolic dimension: the redemption of Jean Valjean, the innocence of Cosette, the antagonism of Javert, the greed of the Thénardier or the courage of Gavroche… ” As a perfect painter of the human soul, Victor Hugo does not neglect any color. The heroes of Les Misérables are described in every corner of their soul, in their part of shadow as well as in their part of light ” says the director.
The different paintings succeed each other in a movement of monumental sets (barricades, Thénardier inn, ballroom, sewers of Paris…) that occupy the entire stage space. An excess that is also found within the artistic staff composed of 64 artists and musician.nes performers in a perfect alchemy for almost 3 hours of performance.
The humanist fresco by Victor Hugo, with the music of Claude-Michel Schönberg and the libretto by Alain Boublil, finds its full extent and still resonates today in all its universality…
